Freewrite

This is probably our last blog post assignment and it has to be a free write. This week our blogs come to an end and as much as it sounded like a hassle to have a blog it turned out pretty fun. In my experience i found out that many in this class  have similar reactions and things in common and it made it fun to discuss about them behind the screen. I will actually miss blogging and responding to my classmates and might actually take up blog as not a hobby but a way to just talk to people around the world.

Respond nuclear waste

This week our blogs had to be on Richard Mullers article "Nuclear Waste" and he talked about how nuclear waste would be a big problem in our future. I found his article a bit hard to follow but what i understand and what I know about it helps me understand his persuasion because its very bad for our world. It ruins things that we  don't see are beautiful right now but i can guarantee that we will see these things gone and we will feel bad about it once its said and done.

Free write (spoiler alert)

For this weeks free write i have chosen to write about the announcement of the movie Deadpool and its rating. Well this april we all knew when the Deadpool movie was going to be released sometime next year, however we were all scared what the rating of that movie was going to be since Disney owns Marvel it could've turned disastrous if it would end up Pg-13 like most marvel movies. As many may know the character of Deadpool is a rather sarcastic, self centered, big mouth assassin and that wouldn't mix in well with the pg-13 rating. Anyways back to the April foreshadow I put up earlier there was a video put up April 1st with an interview with the actor playing Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) where of course they were going to discuss  the movies rating and the actor did in fact state it was going to be pg-13 but at the end of the video Deadpool appears out of nowhere and more or less kills the reporter and ending the scene with "April fools, Deadpool will of course be rated R"

Article for research

Well for my next assignment we have to choose something that can be argued through both sides. I chose about video games and their violence. Many say that violent video games are meant to morally ruin people or that it can change peoples mindsets to the point of thinking that video games are like real life that if you die you can respawn, well i will be arguing against that and i found some information that can help me on my paper. free choice

     For this weeks free choice I will write about how I ended up in Sacrament state. I was not originally going to become a Sac State hornet, living around this area made this school not seem like a good one or too close to home and I didn't want that. I had applied to four state schools San Francisco State, San Jose State, Chico State, and my fall out plan Sacramento State. I ended up being accepted by all four i honestly don't know how I'm not the greatest at thinking, but I did. Anyways i planned to to go to San Francisco but that seemed a little too much, then San Jose and I thought too much family there, after that Chico and I don't remember why I didn't end up there. At last i accepted to come to Sacramento with no idea in what to major in. It was almost like a last minute decision that I came here but to be completely honest i don't regret it one bit.

Hayakawa

 This week we were assigned to write about the author I chose to for my response essay. The author I chose was S.I Hayakawa, the reason i chose him was because i thought it was very persuasive. He wrote in a simple manner with no anger or joy, it was easy to read and overall had some reasonable points on why California should pass the english amendment.

Free write english 5

           This week we have to do a free write for our blog. This topic will be about a fashion designer that worked for an hispanic channel by the name of Univision. His name was Rodner Figueroa and was on the famous show "El Gordo y la Flaca" this show is about gossip and what is currently trending. He was on the show and had a comment that got him fired. He was on the show when he said it and nbcnews.com explained it like this"Emmy award-winning host Rodner Figueroa said “You know Michelle Obama looks like she is of the cost of "Planet of the Apes," Pointing to a picture of the first lady." This was not taken lightly by the network and although he made excuses to free himself from his own damnation he was fired. I find this very bad for Rodner but really happy the latino network took a stand and fired him shows that now there is no room for racial slurs.

Free write

This week we have a free write for our english blog and i chose to do it and a movie advertisement. This advertisement was for the movie Avengers. This movie has everything in it action, drama, and a bit of humor and it does a great job to attract our minds to imagine the rest of that movie. It looks like your classic comic loving action packed movie an it will be because even the trailer has a ton of action. It does a great job to put our minds to think whats going on and what can happen that attracts us to it the most and not to mention its great cast. All we have left for this movie is hope that it can be better than its first installment.

Audience: All soccer lovers, the audience can respond positively to this ad because if you every played soccer glory comes after a short moment of work.

The text was most likely written in 2014, one cultural factor is soccer in brazil since the world cup was there.

It has emotional appeal because the glory of scoring a goal feels tremendous.

One counter argument could be that soccer is not as fun or entertaining as other sports.

This can be hasty generalization because you can find glory and legend defining moments in other sports as well.

The picture includes a outstanding white painted Christiano Ronaldo and it represents him as one of the legendary players of our era.

The text uses purgation because it does make me want to watch or even play soccer.

This text is a very effective text because almost all soccer players or fans have experienced and or watched one legend defining moment.

This weekend i read an article that talked about the death penalty. The Ca death penalty is finally coming to its end. The death penalty in Ca was ruled unconstitutional because it was convicting inmates with no real fate. Ca had the most death row inmates with a whopping 748 of them and the last inmate to be executed was way back in 2006. This was not only costing tax payers a lot of money but the delay from every one that was being tried was only going to increase. Many people also believed that the way of execution was inhumane. But what will happen with these inmates because most prisons in Ca are so full they are no longer in living conditions.

Foer speaks about his in and out relationship with vegetarianism and how meat was such a powerful nostalgic memory from his youth. He explains how just a simple meal was something to compare the greatest chef in the world to his grandma and how just a simple remark from his young babysitter changed his view on the meals he would eat. He tied many things with his decisions but in the end i felt that he wasn't really vegetarian because he ate meat when he felt like it.

 Hello my name is Fernando Acosta-Arreola and I am writing about my writing process. My writing process hasn't really developed in college because i didn't have a writing class in my first semester. For other writing i use what i learned since i was young your typical introduction paragraph, 3 body paragraphs, and your conclusion. This process helped me because i could organize my writing and it has helped with some college writing finals. One thing i do well in my writing is detail my body paragraphs i don't know how i do it but i usually get better results with that than with my intro and conclusion. One thing i don't do very well is my Thesis and conclusion I've always managed but if i have something bad on my writing it's usually those two. I would really like to improve my thesis and conclusions because they are usually the reason why i get B's and C's. I can work on this if i follow the rubrics and instructions for the writing assignments in this class.

Hello my name is Fernando and for english class I'm doing a free write blog as an assignment. This weeks free write is on the 2014 movie "Godzilla". I watched this movie in theatres and i bought it as well, I've watched it about 2 more times and it still shocks me......Why kill Brian Cranston halfway through the movie. This movie is a little low on the action packed awesomeness that we were expecting from a kaiju (monster) movie and to kill off one of the main characters that early was ridiculous. Me as a fan of the famous Heisenberg was very upset at this and the fact that it was an origin movie instead of it being an action filled tribute to it's famous ancestors was kind of upsetting for many fans, but it was something new and interesting in a way. So not to spoil anymore for those who have not seen it thats basically what i think of the movie "Godzilla", it's a great movie if you don't know a lot about the kaiju but if you have at least an idea it is something new. I definitely recommend this film.

English Blog Assignment

  Hi my name is Fernando Acosta Arreola and welcome to my blog. I was born in San Jose Ca but raised in a small town called woodland about 15-20 minutes away from Sacramento. I enjoy listening to all types of music, watching movies, playing soccer, watching soccer, and watching hockey. Im a freshmen at Sacramento state and I'm am looking to major in Criminal Justice although i haven't switched my major to it yet.
